AWS Lambda

AWS Lambda is an AWS compute service that runs code without requiring teams to provision or manage servers. An agent can interpret a request, select an allowed function, supply validated parameters, and use its output to continue a workflow. Synchronous responses and asynchronous completion tracking are handled separately, with retries, error paths, and approval steps designed around the task.

Access is scoped through AWS IAM policies, granting only the permissions needed for each integration. Data mapping defines how agent inputs become function payloads and how results return to the workflow. Input validation, protected credentials, and sensitive-data handling establish security boundaries. Invocation outcomes, errors, and execution metrics are monitored through configured logging and observability tools, according to organizational requirements.
