Türkiye establishes a National AI Council
A national council and programme office are being created under the 2026-2030 Türkiye AI Action Plan.

Announced on 27 August 2026, the 2026-2030 Türkiye AI Action Plan provides for a National AI Council and a programme office.
Its governance goals are setting national priorities, steering investment and ensuring coordination between institutions.
The structure has four functions: strategic direction and coordination, implementation tracking, ethical guidance and technical safety.
The council acts as the top decision and coordination body for strategy, prioritisation, resource allocation, risk and ethics.
For businesses this means expectations around ethics, security and data governance in corporate AI projects will become clearer, and companies that prepare early will hold the advantage.
